'Cynicism is Not an Option'

The Insidious Biden Shrug.

After a thorough assessment of Joe Biden and his presidency appeared in The New Yorker last month, its author, Evan, was interviewed a number of times including on a podcast we had never heard of called Talk Easy hosted by Sam Fragoso. Fragoso’s depth of preparation takes the conversation beyond the usual range of insights and viewpoints. Near the end of his session Evan said in summarizng the months to come until November, “cynicism is not an option.” Dealing with this contest will demand endurance from all of us.

“Cynicism is not an option” seems a mantra worth remembering. The stakes are too great for sighs of frustration or a shrug.
