i have an amazing photo of phil habib at a mini-gaggle at Vientiane Airport in 1975 with a young Le Monde correspondent, Lew Simons of the WashPost, Bob Kaylor of UPI, and a very young (tho still quite hirsute ED BRADLEY) and yours truly taking earnest notes ... will endeavor to ping you a copy, dear Peter !

cheers

My wife's cousin worked for an electric utility in the 1970's. When 60 minutes came to do a story about a power plant the utility was building, her job was to follow the 60 minutes crew around and tape and film every interview. The difference between what was aired and what actually transpired was night and day, black and white, true vs. lies. I viewed 60 minutes with a jaundiced eye ever since, they were a polite version of the Joy Reid/Keith Oberman crazy's of today. I welcome the demise of the traditional media and the rise of forums like the Free Press and Substack as a long overdue competitive alternative. Traditional media committed suicide, RIP.
