Reagan was a fraud, honestly. His voodoo economics, his its morning again in America, his clear and present danger rhetoric.. But the neoconservatists who supported him were rocketscientists compared to the idiots that surround Trump. That I now wish for a Paul Nitze and a Eugene Rostow🤪... it's crazy.

At best, USAID, like the fate of USIA in the last reorg, will be even smaller than the fractional budget percentage it is now. Ask the career fellow just transferred from Rwanda to Fiji, notified by email that he was being recalled with his child in school.

Your defense of USAID may be a bit of an overreaction. I think USAID has only been paused temporarily while determining which disbursements to discontinue permanently. The worthwhile causes will be continued once the bad stuff is found and eliminated. This will not only save money; it will stop promoting policies and ideas that are unAmerican.

In 1995 Gingrich wanted to do what Trump and Musk are trying to do. Yet he failed and his GOP House members quickly found it was more fun groveling in the pork barrel.. Meanwhile Clinton, a Democrat, balanced the budget. Right now, the federal governmeht is spending $5 billion a day more than it is taking in. But cutting taxes, and ruining the lives of Medicaid recipients, starving children abroad and governmeht employees won't do the trick.
