A year ago, my book An Especially Good View: Watching History Happen was published (Platform Books; ISBN 978-1-7359968-0-6). I talked about the book on the PBS NewsHour with Judy Woodruff, NPR’s Morning Edition with Steve Inskeep, and C-SPAN’s Q & A with Susan Swain, among other places. There are bookstore appearances, all virtual, that are now mostly on YouTube. The book was reviewed very favorably (in my view) by Tunku Varadarajan in The Wall Street Journal; in Air Mail, the digital weekly edited by Graydon Carter and Alessandra Stanley; and unexpectedly and surprisingly by John Tammy in Real Clear Markets / Forbes, who called it “occasionally frustrating but wildly engrossing.” Alas, not every review was a rave.
The book is for sale in bookstores everywhere (you’ll doubtless have to ask for or order it) and at all the online retailers in hardcover, ebook, and audio versions. But since I wrote the book to be read and not just for sales, I’m now making it available gratis at Platform Books LLC (https:www.platformbooksllc.net) as an ebook, as an audiobook (which I read), or as a PDF to be printed out.
Why, a person might reasonably ask, would any author do that? Because he/him can.
Thanks for subscribing.
Allen Grossman thanks you profusely. 😊
I have an autographed copy which I’ve read portions of, but LOVE the idea of having YOU read it all to me!
