These may seem like legitimate concerns but Israel’s siding with a totalitarian regime against a democratic one (led by a Jewish leader no less) is only going to come back to haunt a Israel. This is a clear case of being on the wrong side if history. And cozying up to Jewish oligarchs’ money is unforgivable.
I guess the former Israeli sense of the ‘high moral ground’ is totally a thing of the past - if one doubted that over the last many years. But this stance makes a mockery of Jewish morality. Never mind that many of the Ashkenazi founders maybe had roots in the Ukraine. I know I do.
