One of Trump's acolytes at the Madison Square Garden extravaganza labeled Kamal Harris the Antichrist. That is pretty ridiculous, but not so ridiculous when the label is applied to Trump--not a religious antichrist, but in political terms, the term fits. In the Bible, the Antichrist pretends to be a Messiah sent to save the world, but he, in fact, is the exact opposite. Not Satan, but an involuntary agent of Satan. The Hebrew Bible calls him the "Great Deceiver." Everything that Trump and his gaggle of followers do is the opposite of what they say. They claim to want to make America great but work towards America's destruction. They claim to favor unity but work to spread divisiveness. Trump is our contemporary Faust, a con man and mediocre reality TV star who sold his soul for riches. It's an old story harking back to the "Devil and Daniel Webster," except that Trump turned to Roy Cohn, who was more like Old Scratch than the silver-tongued Webster. In the end, part of Trump's success may have been his willingness to serve as a majordomo, head butler, to a mixed bag of Russian oligarchs and Silicon Valley billionaires who need access to the reigns of power. Trump has always been a hollow frontman--not so the financial interests he courts. They represent real power and they prefer to stay in the shadows. Trump is their guy, a transactional-minded corrupt figure who is willing to sell off parts of the US government to the highest bidder. Like Faust, Trump sees himself as the master of the deal. For the rest of us, the trick is to avoid becoming collateral damage when it all falls apart.

His popularity is due to the wretched and anti-American policies of the left and the unelected bureaucracy that is running the country.
